The terminal is the interface between a flexible water-cooled cable and the furnace electrical system. Even when the cable conductor is correctly sized, an incompatible terminal can make installation difficult or impossible.
Different furnace installations use different terminal structures. Depending on the equipment, a cable may require an integral copper terminal, flange-type connection, parallel connection, standard tapered connection or a customized water nozzle arrangement.
Integral copper terminals can be machined from a copper bar. A flange terminal can be designed to match the equipment flange and simplify installation and removal. Parallel electrode arrangements can connect two water-cooled cables to a shared terminal structure.
Water nozzles are also important. Straight and 90-degree water connections can be used according to the available installation space. A rotating connection can sometimes make hose routing easier.

When ordering replacement terminals, do not rely only on the cable diameter. Measure the terminal carefully.
Recommended information includes:
A photograph with a ruler beside the terminal is often very useful for an initial assessment.
For international OEM orders, a 2D drawing or marked photograph is preferable because it reduces misunderstanding between the customer's equipment and the manufacturer's production drawing.
