Copper Stranded Wire

Tinned and bare stranded copper made on our own drawing, tinning and stranding lines — the base conductor for water-cooled cables, flexible connectors and high-current furnace connections, and a product we sell on its own by the drum.

Made from oxygen-free copper

Our tinned copper stranded wire starts from oxygen-free copper wire, and the tin layer uses Yunnan tin with a tin content of 99.99%, so the plating stays consistent from batch to batch.

The conductor is annealed during processing, which makes it soft and resistant to repeated bending — important wherever the conductor moves in service. Stranding is done on a high-speed cage stranding machine with de-twisting, so the finished wire is round, straight and tightly packed, with no loose strands.

The product is used across power transmission and distribution, electrified railways, earthing and grounding projects and industrial electric furnaces.

Why it matters

  • Oxygen-free copper: stable conductivity, clean surface for plating
  • 99.99% tin: even coating, good corrosion resistance
  • Annealed: flexible, tolerates repeated bending
  • Cage stranded with de-twisting: round and straight, no springback
  • Tight lay: no loose strands when cut or crimped
  • Made in the same plant that builds our cables and connectors

Product types

Tinned bare copper flexible stranded wire

Oxygen-free copper, annealed and tin plated, cage stranded for a round and tightly packed conductor. The standard choice where flexibility and corrosion resistance are both needed.

Multi-strand bare copper stranded wire

Bare stranded copper in a wide range of cross sections, supplied on drums or in cut lengths, for cables, busbar connections and furnace conductors.

Oxygen-free copper enamelled wire

Enamelled magnet wire drawn from oxygen-free copper, for coils and windings where an insulating film on the conductor is required.

Soft & hard-drawn tinned bare copper stranded wire

Available in annealed (soft) temper for flexible applications and hard-drawn temper where higher tensile strength is needed.

Frequently asked questions

What copper do you use?
Oxygen-free copper wire. For tinned products the coating uses Yunnan tin with 99.99% tin content.
What is the difference between soft and hard-drawn wire?
Soft wire is annealed, so it is flexible and tolerates repeated bending. Hard-drawn wire keeps the strength from drawing and is used where higher tensile strength matters more than flexibility.
Why is cage stranding important?
A high-speed cage stranding machine with de-twisting produces a conductor that is round, straight and tightly packed, with no springback and no loose strands when the wire is cut or crimped.
Can you make the wire to our construction?
Yes. Cross section, single wire diameter, number of strands, lay length and direction, temper and surface are all made to your specification or to a sample.
Do you supply tinned as well as bare wire?
Both, and enamelled oxygen-free copper wire as well.
How is it packed for export?
On wooden drums, in coils or in cut lengths, marked to your instructions. Packing is fumigation-free.
