A coaxial water-cooled cable is designed differently from a conventional flexible furnace power cable. Its conductors are arranged coaxially, with insulation and separate cooling-water paths incorporated into the assembly.
This configuration can be useful in applications where electrical inductance, conductor arrangement and cooling requirements need to be carefully controlled. The technical material for our cable range describes a copper coaxial electrode with a tin-plated surface and a PTFE insulating structure. Two cooling-water circuits are separated within the design.
The same technical source describes the cable as suitable for demanding furnace applications including EAF and submerged-arc furnace environments, depending on the final configuration.

For buyers, the key question is not simply whether a coaxial cable is “better.” The correct question is whether the customer's power system and installation require a coaxial structure.
When evaluating a coaxial cable, provide:
The outer hose and sealing arrangement are also important because the assembly must protect the electrical conductors while maintaining the cooling-water circuit.
For a replacement order, send photos of the complete cable and both ends. If the original cable has a model number, include it in the RFQ, but do not rely on the model number alone.
